ProjectsProjeler

Two systems in depth, then smaller projects and the labs I learn with.

Self-service Automation Hub

An internal developer platform, built in my current consulting role. Described in general terms: no client names, internal systems or code.

The problemSorun

Platform teams get the same requests again and again: create a resource, change a setting, run a routine job. Each request waits for a person, and each manual run is a chance for a mistake.

What it doesNe yapıyor

Teams start an approved automation from a form. Every run goes through validation, an approval step and an audit trail, so self-service stays governed. Ekipler onaylı bir otomasyonu bir formdan başlatır. Her çalıştırma doğrulama, onay ve denetim izinden geçer; self-servis kontrollü kalır.

  1. DeveloperGeliştiricifills in a formformu doldurur
  2. PortalNext.js on Azure, Managed Identity, no stored secretsAzure üzerinde Next.js, Managed Identity, saklanan gizli anahtar yok

  5. CloudBulutresources from Terraform / OpenTofu modulesTerraform / OpenTofu modüllerinden kaynaklar

Design decisionsTasarım kararları

  • Automations are defined as YAML data, not code, so adding one does not need a new release of the portal.
  • The portal holds no secrets: it runs on Azure with a Managed Identity.Portal gizli anahtar tutmaz: Azure üzerinde Managed Identity ile çalışır.
  • The portal does not do the work itself. It hands it to Azure DevOps pipelines and to Flux tofu-controller on AKS, which applies the infrastructure code the GitOps way.Portal işi kendisi yapmaz: Azure DevOps pipeline'larına ve AKS üzerindeki Flux tofu-controller'a devreder, altyapı kodu GitOps yoluyla uygulanır.

My partBenim payım

The problemSorun

Finding cloud roles abroad that offer visa sponsorship means reading hundreds of postings, checking each employer against sponsor registers and adapting the CV every time. Yurtdışında vize sponsorluğu veren cloud rolleri bulmak; yüzlerce ilanı okumak, her işvereni sponsor listelerinde aramak ve CV'yi her seferinde uyarlamak demek.

What it doesNe yapıyor

  • Collects postings twice a day from about 120 company job boards and public job APIs (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Personio, Recruitee, Bundesagentur and more), only through public interfaces.Günde iki kez yaklaşık 120 şirketin iş ilanı sayfasından ve herkese açık iş API'lerinden (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Personio, Recruitee, Bundesagentur ve diğerleri) ilan toplar; yalnızca herkese açık arayüzleri kullanır.
  • Reads each posting: role, seniority, required languages, salary, and visa or relocation sentences. Negation counts: "visa support is not offered" is evidence against, not for.Her ilanı okur: rol, deneyim seviyesi, istenen diller, maaş, vize ve taşınma cümleleri. Olumsuz cümleler doğru okunur: "vize desteği verilmez" aleyhte kanıt sayılır.
  • Scores each posting against a ledger of my verified skills and matches employers to the UK and Dutch sponsor registers.
  • Tailors a one-page CV per posting by reordering and selecting true lines only. Guardrails reject any technology, number or claim that is not in the ledger.
  • Tracks applications with reminders. A Chrome extension fills application forms but never submits them: a person sends every application.

An incident worth tellingAnlatmaya değer bir olay

Free tiers are a design constraint. One day every page failed: the job list read about 176,000 database rows per request and used up the daily quota of 5 million reads. I added the missing index, split the query into a narrow sort followed by a detail read of one page, cached the heavy aggregations, and put a row-read meter on every response. The budget for the list is now about 6,000 rows. Ücretsiz katman bir tasarım kısıtıdır. Bir gün bütün sayfalar hata verdi: ilan listesi her istekte yaklaşık 176.000 veritabanı satırı okuyordu ve günlük 5 milyon okuma kotasını bitirmişti. Eksik indeksi ekledim, sorguyu önce dar bir sıralama, sonra yalnızca bir sayfanın ayrıntısını okuyan iki adıma böldüm, ağır toplamları önbelleğe aldım ve her cevaba okunan satır sayacı koydum. Listenin bütçesi artık yaklaşık 6.000 satır.
